Campbellford Spin In

Today I attended the 21st Annual Campbellford Spin In sponsored by the Warkworth Spinners and Weaver's Guild. It was held at a church hall in Campbellford, ON 1.5 hours from my home. It was a lovely drive there this morning as the leaves are beginning to turn colour. I didn't get any photos as I was hurtling down the highway but suffice it to say I revelled in the autumn splendour.

Five people I know also attended with me. Elizabeth is a new spinner but even just today improved her technique many fold.
Paula won a door prize.
Margo and Mary also belong to my knitting guild.

It was fun seeing Jody again. We spent the whole day yakking while we spun.

I don't think I'll ever see so many spinning wheels in operation at the same time.
I think there were about 50 of us.

Around the periphery of the church hall were several vendors, many of whom donated gift certificates for door prizes.
I worked away, happily spinning the Lorna's Laces roving I had bought last spring.
I'm liking how it is turning out. There's still lots more to do! I think it'll look awesome when it's plyed.
The Warkworth Guild sponsored a big regional meeting last Saturday in Lindsay. It was well attended and well received. It took so much organization that having the Spin In today really wore out the volunteers so they've decided not to have a Spin In next year. I was kind of bummed out until I realized that at this time next year I'll have just had my weekend at Knit East with Lucy Neatby and Cat Bordhi and will still be in NB.
